CircuitCity will be shutting down all its stores. It is now seeking the bankruptcy court permission to liquidate all its stores.

30,000 employees will be affected by this. Its stock price fell today to under a dime!

Macy's - 11 stores closing

Macy's has decided to shut down 11 stores across the US including the one in Hawaii.

Final closing sales begin next week for all stores except Hawaii.

ValueCity - bankrupt and closing

Value City already has closed more than 75 stores in the last year. Its competitors include TJ Maxx, Burlington Coat Factory, Big Lots and KMart.

It has now filed for bankruptcy and will be closing the rest of 66 stores across the Eastern US.

Mervyns - rest 149 stores closing

The bankrupt chain is now closing its rest of 149 store across the US. Liquidating 49 stores this summer could not help sustain the ailing retailer.

They had a $500 million merchandise that is up for sale now.

Linen 'n Things store have begun liquidating the remaining 371 stores across the 48 contiguous states.

More than $1 billion of branded merchandise is up for grabs. All sales are final, there will be no returns (but ofcourse!)

Whitehall Jewelers - 373 store closing!

After over a 100 years in business, Whitehall jewelers which operates over 350 stores across the US filed for bankruptcy earlier this year and is now closing all its stores. Most stores are offering discounts of up to 50% and many at below market value prices.

Mervyns - 26 stores closing

Store closing sales has begun for 26 Mervyns stores in California, Arizona, Texas, Nevada and Idaho as part of a company-wide reorganization process.

Whitehall Jewelers - 373 store liquidation

Whitehall Jewelers (also Lundstrom Jewelers) have filed for bankruptcy and will in most probability be undergoing a company wide liquidation - as early as mid July.

Goody's Family Clothing - 150+ stores closing locations

Goody's Family Clothing filed Chapter 11 in early June and closing 69 store locations across the country. The company will close about 100 locations in 2008.
